Have you ever wondered why you see so many animals killed or maimed by the roadsides of this country?

Have you ever given thought as to why animals travel the shoulders of our roads? They can't read roadsigns.

Have you ever seen an animal strangulated by a plastic six-pack holder? It would have been trying to reach a tidbit of food and lost it's life trying to grasp for air. Ever seen that? Why would it do that?

Have you ever seen the tongue of a starving mamma dog after slicing it to ribbons licking the juice from a vienna sausage can ?

Why would animals act this way?

They are starved. That's why...

Because people throw food and food containers with the scent of food out the windows of vehicles all the time. These scents are more than a starving animal can bare, so they vacate the safety of the underbrush and the trees in search of those smells. If you are hungry enough, you will face even your worst demons. The same is true of our animal freinds.

Please cut your six-pack rings, and put sharp cans in an airtight zip-lock bag to keep the scent in. Besides the ugliness that is litter, it attracts animals to their death all too often.

Spay or neuter your pet so that the starvation cycle doesn't repeat itself over and over again.

Oh, and about this so-called youthinasia crap, did you know that most cities public funding has been slashed so drastically that not only. Can they not afford enough food and healthcare for the animal control facilties that as the animals. Get sick and starved, these broke cities haven"t the money for the shots to put the animals down. When an animal won't get up anymore, they throw it in the dump.... ALIVE.

Don't take my word for it, search the internet news stories about Dallas, TX some few years back when the Humane Society caught them doing it.

I have held an animal after being hit by a vehicle trying to eat a hamburger thrown out and watched its eyes fade and go blank as it died in my arms. Why do I write entries like this every so often?

Because animals can't write.
